Procedures For Spider Vein Removal
Varicose veins are veins that have been deformed and may have blood pools in them. These are sometimes visible under our skin because most veins that are altered by varicosity are superficial ones close to the top of our skin. Sclerotherapy, microsclerotherapy and laser surgery are commonly used for spider vein treatment, which are smaller. For the first two, a chemical substance is injected directly into the affected veins and the chemical causes the veins to scar and close off the vein itself. Several injections may be required to properly shut off a certain vein and you will be required to wear compression stockings or garments to reduce the swelling and appearance of varicosity. Laser surgery is non invasive and uses the brilliant beam of light to remove varicose veins.
More invasive surgical procedures to remove varicose veins include endoscopic vein surgery, vein stripping and ligation, ambulatory phlebectomy and endovenous ablation therapy. In most of the procedures above to remove varicose veins, there is a tiny hole made to insert something that helps in suturing or closing off the offensive vein. It is only the vein stripping and ligation which will need you to be asleep while they fix this and it is usually reserved for the more difficult cases.
Recovering from a lot of the procedures to remove varicose veins can be as little as a few hours to several days especially for the vein stripping and ligation procedure. The other procedures only need anesthesia to numb the area and a few hours for it to wear off before you can leave the clinic.
